I was invited by Broken City Lab for a residency to develop a project with them that would be similar to Art is Forever. Given that I would be working with BCL which is a community focused arts organization and not an art museum it seemed fitting to have the designs of the tattoos be designed around their city of Windsor, Ontario.
Over the course of the residency we worked the Arts Council of Windsor & Region to host a sketch night where we developed tattoo design ideas with members of the community. During this time we also asked for Windsorites to submit a piece of writing telling us why "Windsor is Forever". From those submissions we selected individuals to receive free tattoos in an all day event at Broken City Lab.
Thanks to everyone at Broken City Lab, the sketch night participants, and for everyone who helped make this happen!
